Hello! hm… well by using top coat as your base coat it would certainly protect from staining as base coat does. As far as nurturing and giving long lasting adherence to the nail bed i don’t think it will work. However this really only matters if you want your nail/art to last, if you are just playing around or don’t plan on having them keep its a good substitute!
Hello! Generally only once a day, (unless i’m unsatisfied) i used to do them several times however! I can not stand plain nails on myself so i always have to do nail art, or at the very least i’ll do an ombre or add some 3D elements. I’m one of those people that as soon as i finish something i don’t want to look at it anymore and crave something new (totally crazy i know)!! Also documenting my designs makes it a lot easier to let go! :)
Hello! I don’t think so! Clear polish, unless stated that its formula helps to protect, adhere, etc. as base and top coat does, will not give you the same results. :)
Hello! All the time! Although I never keep my nails on really for more then a day but I’ve been told it happens a lot. My guess is 1) not enough base coat (or buffing is needed) or 2) the layers are so thick that as the nail grows the polish is stressed on the nail bed? 3) the nail edges (tips) are not covered. This again is just me guessing from my own and others experience… I hope it helps! Ps: any readers out there who can answer this please comment! I would also love to know!

Hello! First try using a whitening toothpaste, then if there is any remaining yellow try using a nail buffer. Avoid buffing too much though because it can make the nail weak.
